Snow and ice removal has been going very well for the city of Estevan.

Norm Mack with the city said they had been anticipating getting more snow than we got over the weekend and that has changed the approach to what they're doing with their equipment.
"What we're doing right now is managing ice and using salt and sand and liquid salt," said Mack. "Plus we're shaving ice off areas on some heavier streets with a grader and blowing them into trucks."

Mack said the issue that the city is finding with the recent cold snap, is their vehicles will be limited due to the temperatures. Wednesday morning, he said it was going to be difficult to get them moving.

"There's not a whole bunch of snow so our equipment will be a little bit quieter in the morning with those frigid temperatures," he said.
Mack said snow removal is under budget so far this year.
