Those planning to cross the border tomorrow may want to think about an alternate route as construction will be causing delays at the North Portal border crossing.

According to a statement from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), "construction-related delays are expected at the North Portal border crossing for a period of approximately 72 hours, starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30."

"Travellers entering Canada by car or other light vehicle should consider the Northgate border crossing (North Dakota Highway 8) and the Estevan Highway border crossing (North Dakota Highway 40) as alternate routes. Both ports of entry are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily."

"The CBSA thanks travellers for their patience and cooperation."
