The feeling of fall is in the air. Students have started their first day back at class and we have our first frost warning of the season.

"We have a large area of arctic high pressure that is moving into the province," explained Regional Meteorologist, Terri Lang. "Now with the lengthening nights, we are expecting widespread frost. Not everybody will get hit but the vast majority of the agricultural area will probably experience frost."

However, she did note that that the frost won't stick around long.

"Overnight tonight and tomorrow morning will be the coldest time. The following night may still be a little bit cool so there still might be some patchy areas of frost but it does warm up towards the end of the week. Plus we'll get more cloud and clouds act like that blanket that you have to cover your tomatoes with."

Environment Canada is currently predicting a high of 29oC for Friday.

"It's amazing. This is the time of year when there's that epic battle between the colder air to the north and still the warm air to the south. We know that this time of year pretty much anything can happen - frost, hail, thunderstorms, snow, we need to expect pretty much anything."

She added that they are also keeping an eye on a system that is heading our way on Sunday that could potentially bring some rain and wind.
