Yesterday saw the lowest new case count of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan in 2021 to that point. Today, the province broke its newly set record with an even smaller number of new cases than the day before. 

The Saskatchewan Health Authority also reported, however, that one more person who tested positive for the virus has died. This resident was in their 70s and was from the North West zone. 

There are just 32 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Saskatchewan today, for a total of 48,537. There were 64 more recoveries for a total of 47,365. This leaves 607 active cases of the virus in Saskatchewan. The SHA reports 75 people hospitalized due to the virus. The seven-day average of daily new cases has dropped down to 61, or just 5 per 100,000. 

Today's new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 2; North West, 2; North Central, 1; North East, 1; Saskatoon, 10; Central East, 3; Regina, 8; and South East, 4. There is one case remaining with pending residence information. 

Every subzone in the South East had a new case today except for Estevan's. Subzone South East 4, which includes Estevan, now has just one remaining active case of the virus. Overall, there are 30 active cases of the virus in the South East. 

Yesterday, the province processed 1807 COVID-19 tests for a test positivity rate of about 1.77 percent. There were also 18,423 doses of COVID-19 vaccine for a total of 1,023,698. The province has received a shipment of 86,660 doses of Moderna for this week.
