There were plenty of smiles at Creighton Lodge this afternoon as members of Affinity Credit Union were on hand to present a cheque for $10,000.

"This is for refurbishing our tub room," Dr Doug Blue, Chairperson for Creighton Lodge Trust explained. "It won't entirely finance all of it but it will go a long way. It will probably be a good half of what we need to invest. The tub itself is quite expensive. We're pricing them out right now."

The tub in use is 15 years old and nearing the end of its life.

"The tub room is not only for the residents of Creighton Lodge but also for the community to use as well."

The money was donated through a grant from the Affinity Credit Union Southeast District Council.

"We have been recipients of that on several occasions and fortunately we were again."

"The Southeast District Council," shared Pauline Ziehl-Grimsrud with Affinity, "Duane Chipley and myself are here today to give the $10,000 donation to Creighton Lodge for their tub room."

Applications are submitted in May and the committee reviews the applications and makes the final selections in June.

"We would encourage all local service groups, people doing things for the community to look at our application process that's online. Please put your applications in, we're always looking for good things to support in the southeast communities."

"If you have questions, give the Credit Union a call and we'll help you as much as we can."

The application can be found here.
