The Estevan Recreational Dance Club Held there 3rd annual Spring Dance Recital on Saturday.  Crowds of several hundred people packed both performances at the Estevan Comprehensive School to watch a showcase of what the dancers of all ages have learned from the past year. There was no shortage of smiling faces, enthusiastic dancers, and happy parents. While at the recital we were able to talk with Victoria Utman who was one of the organizers of the event, she fills us in on the event itself and tells us more about the dance club.

"I represent Estevan Recreational Dance Club, we are a non-profit dance studio here in Estevan. Our vision or our mission is to provide affordable, family fun dance alternatives to the folks of Estevan, were a non-profit which means we really value keeping our costs low so that dance is accessible to everyone."

The dance recital they put on every spring is a great way for them to end the year and showcase all the skills the dancers have learned.

"In September to March, our dance students work really hard all year practicing their technique, learning how to do a variety of different style of dance. We got hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, a little bit of everything, we got boys classes,  girls classes, adult classes and at the end of the season we put it all together in a fantastic spring recital, this is our third annual recital it's our largest one yet, we have actually had to do two performances to be able to accommodate all the family and friends that want to come to watch this year."

According to Ms.Utman, the dance club has seen steady growth and its all thanks to the community support.

"The ERDC has seen some tremendous growth from this area, and we got a whole bunch of support and we really just value and appreciate the community that we are in, we love doing what we're doing because it's filling a need and we see that need as our studio continues to grow."

The recital caps off the year for the club they do hold summer dance camps but don't have the details worked out just yet for the upcoming summer. If people are interested in getting involved with the dance club they have a facebook page that they update regularly or you can visit their website at www.ERDC.ca.
