It was an exciting day at City Hall for the United Way of Estevan as the Mayor signed the Proclamation for the United Way Day of Caring.

"Whereby the United Way of Estevan raises funds in Estevan," shared Mayor Roy Ludwig, "to assist in a development of services that id the community in growth and prosperity."

"The United Way is an awesome organization in our community. They do so much good in our community, we can't say enough about it. We're very happy to have our staff here today with some of the leadership of the board of directors of the United Way."

Ludwig added that he is very excited for the upcoming Day of Caring.

"This is an opportunity for some people who maybe can't get out of their house or are somewhat infirm or immobile it gives them the opportunity to get some small jobs done around the house that otherwise wouldn't get done."

"It's a great thing for the community and I know a lot of our elderly are proud and look forward to this day because they can get some of the things done that they couldn't normally do."

This year's Day of Caring will be held on May 30th.
