With harvest season here there is more and more farm equipment on the road.

"What we would advise motorists is that farm equipment is very slow moving so if they see it on the road ahead of them they should reduce their speed accordingly, proceed with caution and to definitely give themselves extra time and room to pass when it's safe to do so. Sometimes that equipment can exceed the width of the lane so use caution when approaching from the front," explained Tyler Mcmurchy with SGI.

"Farm equipment is very slow moving of course and the driver may not be able to see you, so leave a larger following distance between you. The driver also may not be able to signal their intention to turn or stop so slow down in anticipation of any sudden movements."

"Take it slow, be cautious, be aware that they might not be bale to see you, that they're going the be slow moving and that they take up a little bit of extra room. Take precautions and be aware that if they're approaching they may protrude a bit into your lane so it's a good idea to slow down and make sure that everybody gets to where they're going safely," he stated.
