Members of the Estevan Fire and Rescue Department had their shares of work recently.

"We had a vehicle that was parked at the 7-11 on 4th Street," shared Fire Chief, Dale Feser. "In today's growing trends, people are finding themselves carpooling a lot of times when they work out of the city. This was indeed the case where an individual had parked their vehicle and their slip tank had been leaking diesel fuel and other contents out onto the street."

"Crews were called in to mitigate the fuel spill as well as have the vehicle removed from the scene."

"You want to make sure that should you be parking your vehicle on any public property, that you are indeed responsible for that vehicle even though you are not there. And there could be subsequent charges as far as the clean up of the incident."

Members of the department also participated in some training on a fire truck as well.

"We had crews come in and we had six firefighters do some continued education training on our T-Rex aerial truck. They spent the better share of the day with the technician that came in from the manufacturer of the truck to make sure everyone is well trained on their skill set. And more importantly what to do in the event that error codes should come up on this truck and how we overcome these issues."
