A back to back pair of vehicle infernos kept members of the Estevan Fire Department occupied Monday morning.

"At 8:30...we were first alerted to a motor vehicle fire. Once crews arrived on scene, Estevan police members were already there, this was on the Highway 39 bypass east of the city. We did find the vehicle, however, it was not an active fire," related Fire Chief Dale Feser, "Currently, the RCMP are investigating further, it looks like that somebody had set a vehicle on fire and it was completely burnt to the ground and cool."

"While we were on that scene, we got called to another motor vehicle fire to the east of the city, in the commercial industrial area. Once crews arrived, it was an active fire. The cab portion of the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, so crews put in service a couple of 1 3/4 suppression lines and were able to knock and extinguish the fire quite quickly without incident. The cause of this particular fire is still currently under investigation."
