Local emergency services, including Estevan's Fire Department and RCMP and Lampman's EMS, responded to the scene of an accident north of town right around noon on Tuesday.

"We were toned out to a motor vehicle collision with possible injuries at the 361 and Highway 47 intersection, or junction if you will," shared Fire Chief Dale Feser.

"Once we arrived on scene, we did indeed find two vehicles involved in a rear end collision. One of the two female drivers required treatment on scene, and then later was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for further assessment and treatment."

He couldn't speak to the cause, however, he noted that the junction is a busy one.

"We want to make sure that people are paying attention to their surroundings, other vehicles and motorists on the road, and we're still pretty much in the season where contact with wildlife is on the high end of the scale."

Feser added that road and weather conditions must be taken into account when one adjust their driving speed as well.
