At the recent Estevan United Way Annual General meeting, the many member agencies were in attendance to report on the projects they are tackling this year. Tania Andrist, Resource Development Coordinator, at Envision Counselling and Support Centre, was in attendance at the Estevan AGM.

"The United Way Annual General Meeting is just such a positive event for Estevan," Andrist shared, "because you get to meet and listen to the other organizations in our city and get to see all the good work the United Way does. Just attending that meeting is really excellent. And it inspires all the organizations, I would say to continue to do the work we do because they are so inspirational as a group."

"Being a member agency of the United Way is an honour in our community. Envision Counselling and Support Centre has been involved with the United Way for decades. And that relationship is a true partnership. We do take that relationship really seriously. We appreciate so much being a part of it."

She added that the funds they receive will go toward their intake counsellor.

"We have an intake counsellor in each office and the funding for that comes from both the United Way in Estevan and Weyburn. The intake counsellor helps with our initial contact phone call, someone comes in and they are in trauma or crisis and we help find them the program that fits."

"We see clients trying to flee from domestic violence, we see clients who have had an experience with sexual assault, we see people who are recovering from assault or abuse as children and we help try and find the right pathway and fit them in one of our programs that will help heal them in the best way possible."
