Envision Counseling offers a variety of counselling and support services across the Southeast. Christa Daku told Discover Estevan that the centre provides programs like The Interpersonal Violence and Abuse Program, Family Intervention Program, the Children Exposed to Violence Program, and the Family Support Program and Diversion Program. She adds that they also have programming for children and youth, as well as the Acquired Brain Injury Program available under the Family Support Program.

This year, Savour the Southeast raised and presented $44,000, to Envision Counseling to assist with the programs and services above. Josh LeBlanc presented the cheque on Thursday afternoon and said that they selected Envision Counseling because the centre benefits so many individuals and families across the southeast corner of the province, with offices in Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, and Oxbow.

Daku expressed that, given current economic concerns, this donation will “help avoid a deficit budget in this fiscal year. Basically, [this money] will go towards all operations… It’s community dollars and support that will be able to sustain the programming that we do offer without any layoffs or cutbacks.”

She added, “It’s been a very stressful few years; we’ve had to be very creative with how we are going to maintain our programming. ...This donation provides huge relief.”
