The Estevan Police Service had another steady night last night with issues ranging from assault to theft there was no shortage of work for the boys in blue. Sgt. Tyler McMillan gave us some of the nights highlights.
"Police members were dispatched to a report of an assault at an east end residence. Upon arrival, a female was arrested and she was lodged in cells she will look at a charge of common assault and a couple of breaches. Shes on a probation order and an undertaking from a previous release. She will be taken before a justice today and police will look at trying to remand her for court on Monday. The victim had minor injuries and are known to each other."
"Police had a report of a theft of money from a downtown local establishment, there were some VLT winnings that were taken by another person. The matter is still under investigation, we are hoping that the person will turn the money in, maybe just a lapse of judgment with some alcohol consumption, so we're still hopeful with that."
"Police received a call about an attempted break-in in the 600 block of second street. We arrived in the area and located a local Estevan male who did try to enter the residence, no damage was done to the door, no break and enter had occurred, he was found a short distance away very intoxicated. He just couldn't find his way home, he picked the wrong house. He was arrested and lodged in cells for safe keeping, no charges we just wanted to look after him, make sure he sobers up and can look after himself."
The police also had a wallet turned into them last night so if you lost your wallet you can call the EPS with a description.
