As Sexual Assault Awareness Week wraps up, the Estevan Police Serice is adding their voice to those in support of survivors.

"We want to send the message out," shared Deputy Police Chief, Murray Cowan, "to create awareness of sexual violence and support everyone, in particular survivors and victims that have fallen victim of this. Of course, we want people who live in our communities to feel safe and they should be safe."

"We want to reinforce the fact that people need to report these things so our officers can investigate. There are many ways you can report these types of things and that includes through partnering agencies such as Victim Services, Envision and of course directly to the Police Services. We can certainly assist in getting those supports in place."

"It's something that we really want to reinforce this week and get people thinking about it."
