It has been a busy weekend for the Estevan Police Service. Friday afternoon the EPS received a complaint about an impaired driver on the east side of 4th street.

"The Vehicle was located and a male driver was arrested and charged with driving while impaired and driving over .08," related Sergent Evan Handley. Later that evening members responded to several more complaints about people possibly driving while impaired, both were found to be unfounded though, but we thank the public for calling in."

"Police are investigating a complaint of uttering threats involving youths in the city, the complaint is still under investigation. Friday night to early morning Saturday, the Police performed a curfew check on a male in the Willow Park Greens area. He was found to not be in his residence and will be charged and brought back to court."

The Estevan Police Service held a high visibility stop check with the RCMP on Saturday night and are proud to say there were no impaired drivers on that night.

There were reports of a STARS scam going around. Police would like to remind the public to not release any personal or banking information over the phone and STARS does not ask for money in order to receive prizes. Police advise that if you have questions regarding a scam or are the victim of a scam to call the City Police and they can look into the matter for you.

"We stayed busy throughout the weekend, but we're glad to see we only had the one impaired driver."
