With the weekend on the horizon, more kids will be heading outside to play. The Estevan Police Service is reminding drivers to watch out for kids and other people out enjoying the nice weather.

"Kids are out on their bicycles," shared Police Chief, Paul Ladouceur. "They're out there playing. Pay particular attention when you're out driving around, especially on those warm, sunny days."

"Kids aren't as astute in looking for traffic sometimes, especially younger children. It's our responsibility as drivers and adults to pay close attention to the roads when we're out there."

"And it's the same for our city crews. We see lots of city crews out there working on our roads to make our roads better."

Speed reduction signs are placed wherever workers are present to tell drivers to slow down to 30 km/hr.

"Please, please obey those signs. these are people's mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends and we don't want to see any of them hurt."
