The Estevan Art Council held their annual general meeting on Wednesday evening to discuss how the year went. Overall the year was great, they held a number of concerts, performances, shows, as well as classes teaching different areas of art. Wilma Mantei President of The Estevan Art Council, "We want to bring art to our community that we can't normally get." Unfortunately, their main art instructor moved this past summer so now they are in search for a new instructor to keep the programs going.

Mantei explains what is coming this year, "We look forward to doing about the same thing. We have some great concert lined up in the Estevan Concert Series, but we will be doing two of the four concerts at the Royal Canadian Legion this year. It's a new venue that will give a little bit of a change from always having it at the Estevan Comprehensive School or at a church. We will have Luke McMaster performing this December at the Legion as well as Red Moon Road in April."

"Concert For Kids will be doing four shows this year, which is good as they have only been able to do two shows in the previous years, so that will be good."

The Organization Of Saskatchewan Arts Council, which the Estevan Art Council is apart of, will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

"The history is, it started in Estevan, there is a small book called "How It All Began" that was written about the history of the Organization Of Saskatchewan Arts Council that will be for sale."

Mantei adds"We thank our community for helping and we are always looking for more donations and sponsorship. If there's anyone interested they can get in touch with the Estevan Arts Council."
