The Estevan Derby Fundraisers was a great success on Saturday night, there were 40 participants with a total of about 100 people in attendance.

"It was really great, it was so fun to see all the work that people put into their horses and the thematics," explained Amber Anderson with the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum. " It was a lot of laughs, it was a great way to generate some much-needed income for the Art Gallery and it was also really lovely to just see the communal support which is always heart-warming."

There were many creatively decorated Hobbyhorses that came through the door. The participants and spectators had a great time with everyone at the edge of their seats as the participants approached to finish line. The event also held many funny moments.

"The proceeds from the event go back to the Art Gallery and Museum,We've faced some cuts, so the money that is coming in is helping with those cuts but they also go towards our programming which we also put right back into the community in the form of classes, outreach and our different little events we do for the community."

The Art Gallery and Museum will be looking at possibly hosting it once again next year but before then they have their main focus on the Rafferty Rumble that will take place in July of this year.

The total amount raised to come when announced.
