Estevan Diversified Services has been busy this year with a book and a Canada 150 project. And with the recent $1,000 donation for the the Estevan Lions, they will be able to do a lot more.

"We were overwhelmed to be honest," shared Carol Cundall, Executive Director for EDS. "The Estevan Lions sent us a wonderful letter and they said that they appreciate the role that we provide in the community."

"The reality is that there are things we do that you don't know if people are aware of in the community and the past year, we wrote a book, a human rights book for people with disabilities. And so this money is going to be providential because it's going to help us provide teaching materials for our clients to utilize the book. This will also help us in promoting the book throughout the entire province."

"So the partnership between the Estevan Lions and Estevan Diversified is wonderful."

"The book, Your Life, Your Rights, has a provincial impact for people with disabilities. We've had recognition from all across Canada and with this partnership with the Lions, it's going to help us promote the book and get it out there so that people with disabilities have access tot eh human rights book."

As well as receiving support form the Lions, they are also one of the 15 member agencies that the Estevan United Way supports.

"That's been a longtime partnership. We appreciate everything they do for us. We go to the United Way for those things that would not be in our realm to purchase. When we're looking at, say a vehicle, or something major, we always go to the Estevan United Way. The citizens of Estevan support Estevan Diversified, the Estevan United Way does. We're really blessed to live in this community."

"We really look forward to the Telethon. It's such a gathering of the citizens of Estevan. We go down there, we support it, we watch the entertainment and you see how the community comes together to support one another."

She adds that the support form the community is wonderful.

"The only thing is how well respected and treated people with disabilities are in this community. They're part of the United Way and you don't see that everywhere."

"The 150 projects have been phenomenal. It was a way for us to almost give back to the community. We kept the price really reasonable so people   could see what we have to offer. And know we're busy doing ones for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The reality is, our clients love the Roughriders,   so we'll do some Rider ones. It's a nice, fun project that everyone can feel a part of."
