There was a report of a house fire received Tuesday evening by the Estevan Fire and Rescue.

"We had a call right around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, Estevan  Fire and Rescue was alerted to a home fire that was actually out in the North-West of the city in the RM of Estevan," shared Fire Chief Dale Feser.

"Once crews arrived on scene they found that the home owner had extinguished the fire, however there was still a lot of heat and smoke that had remained in the home. Crews made entry into the structure and ventilated, ejecting all the smoke out of the home and searched for fire extension to ensure that the fire was indeed out."

"Thankfully the homeowners were home at the time and were able to get a couple fire extinguishers on the fire and called 911 to have police and fire crews attend the scene. Damage is fairly extensive to portions of the home and the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time," explained Feser.
