Estevan's Fire and Rescue Department was kept bust these last few days dealing with a number of car accidents.

Their calls started on Thursday, with a call out to Highway 47 around 30 km north of Estevan around 8 pm.

"Crews arrived on scene to find the vehicle in the west ditch of the southbound lane," Fire Chief, Dale Feser shares. "The driver attempted to avoid hitting a moose which subsequently sent the vehicle into a skid and rolling into the ditch."

Thankfully, the driver, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle was not injured in the accident.

"Obviously shaken up pretty good but uninjured. EMS treated and released that individual on scene."

Then, on Saturday, crews were once again called out to another car accident.

"We had a call at approximately 1 pm. This was a train versus vehicle collision on Viewfield Road which is one mile northwest of Hitchcock on Hwy 39. Crews arrived on scene to find the driver uninjured and there was no entrapment thankfully. As far as train versus vehicle collisions go, this was relatively minor in nature, just a glancing blow."

Feser reminds all drivers to pay extra attention to your surroundings, especially in the country, to make sure that no trains are coming.

Crews were once again sent out on Sunday afternoon, around 3:30 where they responded to a minor accident between two vehicles on 4th Street and 13th Avenue. There were no injuries and both vehicles could be driven from the scene.
