Emergency responders from across the country attended the funeral of Darrell Morrison, the Rosetown firefighter who was killed on duty last week.

"We did see a great attendance from four provinces," shared Estevan's Fire Chief Dale Feser. "We had BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. I do believe there were one or two individuals from Ontario. We had over 300 emergency services personnel that were in attendance, 200 of them from the fire service and then there approximately 60 from the EMS, another 40 from the law enforcement side."

Feser added that he went to Rosetown as part of his duties with the Saskatchewan Association of Fire Chiefs taking care of logistics.

"We had a really great team in place consisting of fire chiefs and other members throughout the province."

"Basically just trying to do whatever we can to help the fire department, to help the community in preparing for this. This has been the first line of duty death funeral service, full honour service that the province has seen in quite some time so we wanted to make sure that we are honouring the commitment that Darrell Morrison has made to his community and ultimately paid the sacrifice that we don't want to see."

"It was great to see everybody come together and offer support to the family and to the community at this time."
