The Estevan Police Service started out with some check stops throughout the night handing out tickets, to making an arrest.

Sgt. Tyler McMillen, "Last night police attended a local establishment where a male refused to leave even after being asked to do so, upon arrival he was located out in the parking lot. He was questioned out there and initially gave police false identification or false name. We believe it was to avoid criminal liability because he was on conditions not to consume alcohol. So he was arrested and lodged in cells until he is sober, and he will face charges of obstructing a Peace Officer in the execution of their duty and breach of his conditions. And will appear in court today."

"Also, on patrols, a door was found to be open on a commercial building in the center of the city, the building was checked out and nothing appears to be out of place or missing."

The weather has warmed up, but it is still cold enough to be concerned about the well-being of individuals trying to catch a ride. "A male was located just on 47 north of the bypass, on foot in the early morning hours about 4 am. He was given a ride back to his residence. He was trying to get to an airport, for a flight, but he was taken home where he can make other arrangements where it's warm and a proper way to get there."

"Otherwise we did some traffic highlights last night, a little bit of a blitz on the intersection of King Street and 13th Avenue and seat belts and cell phones were the ones that people were not compliant with last night."
