A crowd came out on Wednesday evening for food, entertainment and an inspirational speaker and discussion at the annual Estevan Pro-life banquet fundraiser.

"166 was our count of attendees, so it was a good turnout for Estevan. It was an enthusiastic crowd, and I thought the night was really well received, it went excellent," expressed President Bridget Bittman.

She noted that the numbers of people coming our for the event seem to be growing each year.

"We had Stockwell day about 10 years ago, and that was the only time we packed the rafters and had 200 (attendees)."

It was held in the Estevan Alliance Church, with food and decorations catered by Arturo Estrella that included an intricate artistic carving in watermelon. Music was provided by Sarah Estrella and the Daae family, followed by a presentation and question and answer period with Jonathon Van Maren, the Director of the Canadian Center for Bio-Ethical Reform.
