A pair of cases involving extremely serious charges have been on the docket for the Estevan Provincial Courthouse recently. Both cases are now going to have to wait for their next step.

Andrew James Young was to appear in court on June 17, and now he'll have to wait for his next court date, which is as yet undetermined. He faces charges of conspiracy to traffic cocaine. According to the courthouse, the federal crown filed a direct indictment. His matter will now be heard in Court of Queen's Bench.

Young and Lindy Erin Darling each face conspiracy to traffic cocaine charges from an arrest in May of 2020, the investigation for which began in 2019. They are also both facing charges from a separate arrest including sexual assault, assault, and forcible confinement. Charges on that matter will be brought before the court on August 10. They are presumed innocent.

Also from the courthouse, 41-year-old Gurwinder Singh Toor, who has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 55-year-old Angelo Galido, appeared via phone on Monday and had his matter set over to June 28. He will appear at 9:30 that morning.

Toor's charges came following his arrest on Barlow Trail in Calgary on June 16. Nine days earlier, police had found Galido's body after a missing person's complaint. The investigation included RCMP Major Crime Unit North, Estevan Police Service, Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Section, Airdrie RCMP General Investigation Sections and Calgary Police Service.

Toor appeared in Airdrie Provincial Court before his appearance in Estevan. He is presumed innocent.
