The Estevan RCMP have been kept busy responding to a few calls recently.

"On Friday, June 29, at 2:30 PM Estevan RCMP were called to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on highway 47 north of Estevan. As a result, police located the suspected vehicle on highway 361 and arrested the driver for impaired operation and resisting arrest. The 23-year-old female from Stoughton provided breath samples over 3 times the legal limit. She is set to appear in court August 13, in Estevan Provincial Court."

"On July 2, 2018, at 11:40 the Estevan RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a semi truck and trailer that had rolled over near Hwy 39 approx. 10 km north of North Portal. Estevan RCMP, Estevan Fire and Portal International Fire Department responded to the scene. The semi-trailer was carrying approx. 30 000 litres of sweet crude oil and was leaking. Fire was able to mitigate the leaking liquid and protect the environment from further contamination using Haz Mat procedures. Portal International Fire Department stayed on scene for several hours as cleanup progressed. Speed appears to be a contributing factor and the driver of the semi-truck was charged with Drive a Vehicle Without Due Care and Attention under the Traffic Safety Act. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured."

"On July 3, 2018, at approximately 9:30 am Estevan RCMP provided assistance to a semi who had experienced some mechanical issues with his trailer. As a result, Highway 39 just south of Bienfait was slowed to one lane of traffic for approximately one hour as workers cleared the semi and trailer from the roadway."
