The Estevan Recreational Dance Club wrapped up their summer camps on Thursday with a small performance.

"They went very well, we had a good mixture of returning and new students, so we had an excellent turnout," shared Brooke Wilson, director, and instructor of ERDC. "We held five weeks of different styles of camps from ages 5 to 17, and they all went well. We had one week of camp last year, and we had about 30 students come in, but having it on multiple weeks meant that kids could attend even if they had vacation and we’re going to miss it, they come in the next month. By having it on multiple weeks, we were able to draw in more students."

With camp wrapped up now, the instructors are beginning to prepare for the upcoming dance season in September. Wilson noted a few changes are coming up this season, "We have expanded this year, instead of only teaching on Sundays we are going four nights a week now. We also added some new classes and have more available for students. I’m also excited to dance more during the week. We’ve also seen an increase in students. We are sitting at about 180 students right now, which is up from our 160 last year, so we’re super excited to get started. We still have some spots available if anyone is still interested in registering. You can message us on our Facebook page, Estevan Recreational Dance Club, and we will send you the information."

Wilson is also excited to have larger class sizes, increasing from 12 to 19 students or 15 to 20 students. The growth is in all of their age categories. Students will get the chance to learn more complicated positions and routines, as well as get the opportunity to do more fun stuff and make more friends.
