Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Grammy Award Winner and 12 time Grammy Nominee. Humanitarian. Small Town Boy.

These are all things that describe John Mellencamp who brought his style of timeless heartland Rock and Roll to Estevan Friday night.

While the tour is named after the Seymour, Louisiana native's latest album 'Sad Clowns and Hillbillies', the set list contained songs spanning from many albums over his career. While many artists seem to fall back on their biggest and earliest successes, Mellencamp still rocked the crowd with any of the songs that came from his band whether it be the opening song 'Lawless Times' from his 2014 album 'Plain Spoken', to the classics we all know and love in 'Small Town', 'Paper In Fire', and 'The Authority Song'.

From a town not much bigger than Estevan (just over 17,000 people), Mellencamp has never been the most theatric of acts, but has always left the hard edge of the guitar, his voice, and the lyrics it caries do the talking and the performing in his shows, and Estevan's show as no different.

More details to come this week.
