The new Saskatchewan Emergency Alert system being implemented across the province still takes some getting used to.

That said, the City of Estevan is lending a hand to the Town of Lampman and RM of Browning in getting it set up.

"What we're doing is helping our sister community out in the event (of an emergency) to issue a Sask alert, until such time that they have the necessary resources in place for their own community," explained the Energy City's EMO Coordinator Helen Fornwald.

"This will ensure that, in the event that there is an emergency and an alert is required, there won't be a lot of time lost. Estevan will be able to assist in that procedure."

Being a part of the system has no cost, and included is a free app that will push notifications your way when something is going down.
