A routine traffic stop resulted in a number of drug, weapon and other charges for a pair near Stoughton.

"Members of the Fillmore Detachment pulled a vehicle over in the early morning hours of March 4th, 2018," explained Cpl. Keith Kosior. "Their subsequent investigation after speaking with the driver and passenger, led to do a search of the vehicle and they located a quantity of what is believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and some pills."

"Also in the vehicle, the officers discovered some weapons including a firearm."

"There were bladed weapons, one such was a machete. At this point in time, we don't have any further information on that firearm but it was something that caught the officer's attention during the search."

He added that the vehicle was stopped in part of a regular patrol looking for suspected impaired drivers.

"This was one of such stops that led to the officers pulling the vehicle over."
