The Estevan Fire Department has been kept on it's toes over the past few days as they work to keep the Energy City safe.

This included three calls on Tuesday, starting with a commercial fire alarm on the northeast side of town.

"Upon arrival at the scene, there was no visible smoke or flames from the exterior of the building. After further investigation, it was deemed that it was excessive dust that was the cause of the alarm," shared Fire Chief Dale Feser.

"Later that day, we got toned out at approximately 4:00 in the afternoon to the Dufferin Avenue apartment area. After initial assessment, there was no visible smoke or flame again from the exterior of the building. Crews did a complete sweep of all three floors, finding no signs of fire conditions, and it looks like the cause of the alarm was a cooking incident. Smoke had migrated into the hallway, setting off the fire alarm system."

He added that they had then attended the accident that evening, where a car had swerved into a parked truck after blowing a tire.

A few other calls were also seen over the past few days, including a few random fire calls in the nature of the ones on Tuesday, as well as the collision on Sunday at the intersection of 13th Avenue and 6th Street.
