You may want to double check that you have both your jacket and your umbrella handy for the next few days, and hang on to your hat too.

According to John Paul Cragg, a Regional Meteorologist with Environment Canada, rain, wind and cooler temperatures could all be headed our way.

"There will be a low moving in on Saturday that will start to bring in the chance of showers in the afternoon, and some stronger winds. We're looking at those getting up to 30 gusting 50 kilometers, and as it moves in from Alberta those will continue."

"By Sunday, that low will start to bring some rain to the southeast corner of the province, and continue all the way through Monday as it slowly moves it's way into Manitoba, with some showers lingering even on Tuesday," he said.

While southerly winds on Saturday will briefly bump the temperatures up, they will soon switch to the north, bringing a high of only 7 degrees by October 3rd. In addition, Cragg predicted that the rain could amount to as much as 40 millimeters, Sunday evening through Tuesday. Monday could also see winds gusting to 70 kilometers per hour.

"There's also the possibility of some snow accumulating around the Cypress Hills, thanks to this low and strong northerly winds."

Even with temperatures dropping and rain in the forecast, he doesn't expect too many slippery roads as of yet. However, as the days get closer to the weekend that won't be the case for long.
