Golfers in the area spent a nice day on the links and raised money for the Estevan Family Resource Centre at the 3rd Annual Charity Golf Classic this past Friday.

"It was a fantastic day," shared board member, Michelle Walsh, one the main organizers of the event. "We had a great turnout, the weather was awesome and we ended up having 77 golfers."

She added that through the golf tournament, they raised just over $11,000.

"The money will go towards our free programming. For Grades 3-6, we have summer programs run by our summer students. All of our counselling at the centre is free."

"We are hopeful and we work with what we have. It will help out for sure."

"I always keep a positive attitude and we have two great ladies who run our centre and they are the Family Centre. All we can do is ask for the communities' help and look at grants and sponsorships and we are a United Way member agency."

Walsh also wanted to thank the community for their support at the tournament.
