Good Friday saw the churches of Estevan come together for their annual service, and as a result of a generous offering taken up, the Warm Welcome meals in the Energy City will receive nearly $4,000.

"Wow!", was all that Kitchen Coordinator Christina Farquar could say at first when she found out. Whether the organization would stay open for much longer was up in the air until that point, but she's now confident that they will be able to last a while longer.

"It's costs about $1700 a month to run, so four thousand dollars, that's over two months."

"I am absolutely floored. I've always been amazed at the generosity in this community for any fundraising that goes on, so this is just fantastic," Farquar added.

"We were hoping to get enough to cover one month's expenses, and we more than doubled that, so to say we're pleased would be an understatement," said Reverend Jason Richards, who's on the committee of pastors organizing the service.

He noted that the event has grown in the last few years, and so has the generosity of those in attendance.
