“We had a wonderful time with around 80 participants," shared organizer Donalda Penley from the Torquay area. "The weather was great, lots of fun and comradery, everyone coming together for a common cause to support research for a cure and better treatment options for those challenged with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) an Autoimmune disease not necessarily visible to onlookers which belies the war raging internally."

Emily’s Got Guts has raised $35,704 and with the Saskatchewan Government matching 25% of total raffle tickets sold.

Emily’s Got Guts is currently sitting in second place Nationwide in the Top Team fundraising Teams and Emily’s personal fundraising effort in 6th place across Canada as a Top Fundraiser.

There were four physical Walk locations in Saskatchewan: Regina, Swift Current, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.

"Our walk location was Swift Current and we are currently at approximately $43,000. National’s Goal is 3.65 million and is currently at approximately 3,004,000. million. Donations personal and corporate are accepted and appreciated right through to July 2nd to count toward this year’s Walk."

The Gutsy Walk is Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s single largest annual fundraiser.

The funds raised go towards Research, two Children/Youths Summer Camps (Got to Go) the Western one located in Bragg Creek, AB. and the Eastern in Brigadoon, Nova Scotia, Scholarships (3 out of 10 were awarded last year to Saskatchewan students), Patient programs, local support, advocacy, education and awareness.
