Hillcrest School has been working on a playground project for a few years, to help make sure that the community has a place to go that is a safe place for families.

Sara Pippus the Community Education Liason, "We did receive funds from TeleMiracle and receive our letter about those funds back in October of 2017. We were working on putting equipment on the playground that would be accessible to all. They were a portion of the amount that we were able to put towards the playground."

Pippus shares how they prepared an application for receiving funds for TeleMiracle 43, "What we've done is we made a pretty long comprehensive plan in regards to the playground, and we wanted to make our playground into a space that was not only useable for the students at the school, but also for the community surrounding it. Because we are sort of smack dab in the middle of the community and make it welcoming and safe for people to use. And that would really encourage families to play together, and utilize what we have on the playground. So the Kinsmen foundation donation to us was 15 thousand dollars, and it went towards a zip line and it sounds crazy and dangerous but its a really fun installed in the ground zip line and it has a few good options for students to zip across with their hands from one platform to the next. Or to be able to use an accessible seat and that seat is available for students that have a lack of mobility or wouldn't be able to use the handheld one."

"And so that's been a really nice way to open our playground for everyone and make things accessible. Which was really our goal at the beginning with this piece of equipment."

The Playground continues to move forward and is an asset to the community, Pippus goes on to share, "We just really want to thank the Kinsmen TeleMiracle foundation for their donation to us, for their grant to us. It really helps to support what we're doing here, and without the support of organizations like them, we wouldn't be able to go ahead with projects that are inclusive and accessible and support everyone in our community.
