Coldwell Banker Choice Real Estate and the Estevan Humane Society held their Homes For Dogs event yesterday. The event had dogs and cats from the Humane Society who are looking for a new home, a pet food drive for the animals at the Humane Society and a BBQ lunch. They had two beautiful and super lovey dogs and a few adorable kittens eager to find their new families.

Elizabeth Murphy, Manager of the Estevan Humane Society shares what went on, "We had an event for adoptions, so we had some adoptable animals for people to see and adopt. We had a pet food drive so people could donate any kind of wet cat food, dog food, cat kibble and cat litter, we graciously appreciate that. We also had a BBQ. It was a relatively good turnout considering the weather and we weren't going to let the gloomy weather hold us back."

Josh Lablanc with Coldwell Banker Choice Real Estate shares, "Coldwell Banker Choice Real Estate is helping the Estevan Humane Society because it's part of an international strategy between Coldwell Banker Canada, USA, and international, to partake in the Homes For Dogs Project. Coldwell Banker has helped find homes for more than 20,000 dogs worldwide. Because we are newer in Estevan this was an initiave we wanted to jump on with. We know the Humane Society is important and need all the support they can get, so we thought we'd partner with them for this."

The Humane Society and Coldwell Banker Choice Real Estate would like to thank everyone who came out to the event and the community for the support.

The Humane Society currently has 5 dogs under their care and around 40 cats and kittens that are all in need of homes before the new year.
Murphy adds, "If you are interested in adopting, please come and see us down at the shelter. If you are not in a position where you can adopt an animal right now, you can always volunteer. We take volunteers who can do fostering, where you can keep an animal temporarily to help it get adjusted into a home environment. We also do in-shelter volunteering, so you can come down and walk the dogs or play with the cats. You can also volunteer for events like this and donations are always welcomed."
