For his first time running the show, he certainly pulled a fancy rabbit out of the hat on Wednesday. Travis Frank is filling in for new mom Becky Cassidy as the Executive Director of the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, and part of his duties include seeing the annual Radiothon for Life on CJ1150 and Sun 102 through to fruition.

He did just that this year, to a final off air total of $104,615, thanks to the generosity of everyone in southeast Saskatchewan over the 12 hour period.

"This is our community. We come together for everything. I've had the great pleasure of working with a very large number of different not-for-profit groups in this city, and every time, this is exactly what you just expect. They are just so great, and pull together because they know a cause and they that giving to that cause is important. That's what we try to do here at the Foundation, is to make sure that the money is managed well, that it goes to the needs that we have in our facility and that we continue to make healthcare better in our community," he said.

Local businesses stepped up help supply the BBQ lunch and kept the refreshments stocked throughout the day.

"We had points where there were too many volunteers, which is an incredible thing to have. We had points where it was just more food than we knew what to do with. It's fantastic, it's the best thing ever."

Every penny raised will stay within the Hospital, to support the services and needs of the place that provides healthcare to the southeast.
