Two months ago, Ruby Barnes vanished from the Carlyle area without a trace. After many tips and possible sightings, authorities are nowhere nearer to locating her.

"We continue to receive tips," shared Staff Sgt Darren Simons with the Carlyle RCMP. "Each tip is followed up to determine if it was Ruby Barnes. So far with video, we've been able to confirm it hasn't been her."

"We continue to work with our major crimes unit looking for avenues to investigate and try and locate her. And we continue to make patrols in areas where we hope to find the vehicle and find information."

Simons added that he has dealt with missing persons cases before and it never gets easier.

"I've said many times before, we sometimes wish it was like TV. In an hour episode, you have a crime committed, the crime is solved and the people are prosecuted if necessary. We want to bring this to a conclusion. It takes a toll on us as well. We all have family, we can all only imagine what it's like for the Barnes family.

"We want to bring this to a resolution as quickly as possible and we can't. And we're trying pretty well everything we can imagine to try and locate her. There are options that exist but we have to narrow down an area to look to do those things. We can't be checking every body of water in Saskatchewan for a vehicle."

As for the public, Simons added that people can help simply by keeping their eyes open.

"We'd just like the public to be observant. If they see something, anytime, not just related to this, anything that is out of the ordinary, they don't have to investigate, they can call us."
