Local Reaction has been coming in all morning regarding the poor conditions on the highways in the southeast.

KasLynne Samson shared that, "It is crazy out there. Hubby tried and spun around 2 times."

Chantelle Dubreuil Harris added, "Portal has a backlog of vehicles to half a mile from the Roche Percee corner. Not sure why, assuming semis can't make it up the hill on south side. No salt on that highway once south of Bienfait."

She added that there were around 15 semi trucks sitting on the highway.

Scott Nenik sent us this message along with a photo: "Lined up on Hwy 39 going to North Portal 30+ semis in line roads too icy for the hills."

Highways 39 and 47 were also ice covered.

Mary Cameron: "Highway 39 coming from Bienfait is really slippery my dad drove 60km all the way!!"

Amanda Coates: "Highway 47 south is sheer ice. Husband drove 40/km to town for work and was still sliding. Bus is cancelled."

Dean Erickson: "39/18 to Landfill is very icy. Scale and deck is metal so..... super icy!"
