The spirit of giving was alive and well at Kingston Midstream in the month of December. They spent the final month of 2019 donating thousands of dollars to local causes, including two very generous donations to the Lampman Community Recreation Complex and Estevan Minor Hockey.

"Kingston Midstream is proud to support local community organizations where we operate," said Becky Cassidy of Kingston Midstream. "We really like to give back in the communities that our infrastructure lies within and where our employees work. It's really important to us to be able to give back to those communities where we do business."

Estevan Minor Hockey received a donation of $15,000, while the Lampman Rec Complex received $20,000. Estevan Minor Hockey knows exactly what they'll be putting the money towards.

"We used it to purchase the new dividers for our initiation and novice division," said Jen Lozinsky, initiation director of the EMHA. "We're going to use those to keep up with all the changes that SHA is bringing to hockey."

With 440 kids registered for minor hockey this season, the ice dividers were a must-have for the younger division. It allows multiple youth games to take place on the same ice sheet, which not only reduces costs and ice time concerns but also makes it easier for younger kids, who can't move up and down the full-sized ice surface as easily as more developed players.

"They are actually really handy and really neat to divide the ice up," Lozinsky said. "It makes playing half-ice hockey really easy. They're easy to install, they're easy to take down. They're awesome."

Lampman's rec center will use the new donation to upgrade their kitchen facilities.
