Saturday was a time to make smiles happen, as the Estevan Kinettes Club held their annual Day of Kindness.

"We like to go around Estevan and do random acts of kindness for people, just to bring a little bit of joy to their day. It is actually something that is done nation wide through KinCanada," explained local member Kristol Nagy.

"We like to surprise people wherever we can, and whatever fits into our budget, trying to do things for different age groups and in various locations."

Among the activities for the ladies was popping by the St. Joseph's Hospital and the long term care unit, handing out flowers to patients and residents.

"When we visit the nursing home and long term care, people are usually just very excited to have somebody sit and have a conversation with them. Lots of hugs, lots of smiles, and even some tears sometimes," Nagy said of the reaction they get from those on the receiving end.

The Kinsmen also held their Day of Kindness on Friday, dropping off lunches for those at Estevan Diversified Services.
