Member of Parliament for Souris-Moose Mountain Dr. Robert Kitchen said he is pleased that Ontario Premier Doug Ford is allying with Saskatchewan in its court case against the federal government's carbon tax.

“Well, the Premier of Ontario had indicated that, all along, during when he campaigned, that he would be challenging and stepping away from the cap and trade system that they had, and in so doing, he would step forward and support the province of Saskatchewan in its dealings with the Federal Government,” explained Dr. Kitchen.

“I’m happy to see that, it’s just nice to see that other provinces are starting to see the same things that we were seeing here in Saskatchewan,” he said. “It’s a tax grab, and it’s not going to accomplish what it’s proposed and set out to do.”

“So, having Ontario stepping on board will be a benefit as Saskatchewan pursues that manner,” he added.

Ford made the announcement earlier this week prior to a meeting of Canada's premiers in New Brunswick.
