Souris Moose Mountain MP, Dr Robert Kitchen is hoping the federal government can get rolling on ratifying the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement.

"This is an important thing for us in Canada as exporters and in particular for Souris Moose Mountain because we export a lot of our agricultural products and our ranching products to that part of the world."

"Having that access when we know that NAFTA is in jeopardy with dealing with the US would be something we would like to see ratified extremely quickly."

The federal Liberals have tabled legislation but conservatives are calling for quicker action,
