Lampman spent the weekend under a state of emergency as the sky opened up and dumped a massive amount of rain on the residents.

"Basically what's happened is over a 48 hour period," shared Village Administrator Greg Wallin, "we're hearing different stories but we received probably 10 plus inches of rain."

"We ended up with severe flooding in the town. Lots of houses had water running in the basement windows."

He added that a few houses may have experienced sewer backup. Some roads were flooded and many residents were busy pumping water.

"It's an unfortunate circumstance that it happened when the rain comes that fast. We had several trucks from surrounding companies trying to relieve the sewer system."

"We want to thank all the individuals, all the companies, all the people that came out. Some of them spent 24-36 hours they were out manning pumps and helping out to try and save everybody's homes."

As the water recedes, the residents are all hoping more a few days of sun.

"We've got several areas that we got to get emptied out yet. There are still people that have their front lawns underwater."
