If you are still scraping together your tax bill payment, you can breathe a little easier as the deadline for when late penalties kick in has been extended.

"We experienced some delays with SAMA this year," shared Trina Sieben, Estevan's tax assessor, explains, "in delivering the assessment roll. So we didn't get the notices out until July 6th. They are due July 31st but Council wanted to allow for 30 days for payment so we have waived the penalties now for August so penalties will start September 1st."

She added that there is a variety of different ways to pay your taxes.

"We do offer the TIPS program, that's our pre-authorized payment plan where you can sign up to do monthly payments. We have a few options available from January -  December, or from August - July. We also offer cash, cheque or debit. You can make online payments through your personal banking."

New this year, the City is accepting payments through credit card. However, there will be a 2.5% service charge added to that.
