The City of Estevan is welcoming everyone back to the pool following the month-long shutdown.

"We're excited," shared Estevan's Program Manager, Erin Wilson. "Shut down is always a tough time for me because as much as I like to see our facility to get a good clean sweep and be able to take some time to spend with staff training, I want to have the users in the water."

While in past years the pool saw some upgrades, Wilson said that this year was focused on regular maintenance and upgrades to the floors int he men's change room and the family change room.

"This year was really focusing on fixing, maintaining, cleaning what we currently have."

As well, she added that they focused a lot on staff training.

"There will be a lot of new faces around the facility in aquatics. We're growing our team right now so we're excited and hopefully, everybody will come down and say hi tot he new lifeguards and instructors."

To celebrate the grand opening, the pool is offering a toonie swim starting at 6 pm.
