The Estevan Lions Club recently handed out a variety of donations to organizations throughout the community and beyond.

STARS Air Ambulance was one of the recipients, and the Provincial Director of Operations, Cindy Seidl, expressed that they are incredibly grateful for having been chosen. The two organizations have a running history together.

"We are long standing partners with the Lions. In fact, they are the reason that STARS Air Ambulance exists. 30 years ago, one of our founders, Dr. Powell approached the Lions Club and they provided a $50,000 donation to help us get up and running."

"We are thrilled to have their continued support," she added.

The $2,500 will be applied towards their general operations, such as aircraft fuel, maintenance, medical equipment and so forth.

"Estevan is an area that we come to quite often. We have been there 30 times within the last fiscal year, and 116 times since we started in 2012," explained Seidl.

"It's always great to get support from a community that we've served for over 5 years."
