Murray GM in Estevan has been awarded the highest honour they could receive through General Motors of Canada. Each dealership in the company earns points towards entering the 'President's Club', an exclusive list of only 50 dealers across the entire country.

"It's a combination of a whole bunch of different factors including number of sales in each respective category, vehicles per month," says General Manager Brad Pierson. "Further than that, over the year they look at measured growth, measured customer service, sales and service, parts sales, accessory sales, it's just a general measurement of the dealership."

Through the entire province, only two dealerships in all of Saskatchewan qualified for the President's Club, and not a single one in the entire province of Manitoba made the cut. The judging begins at the start of the calendar year and each month, dealerships in a bracket that compete against each other are awarded points for the their overall performance in the categories listed above, and only one dealership is awarded the prestigious honour in the final month.

"We don't know who we're paired up against, but to give you an indication there's 450-some dealers across Canada and only 50 get this award."

The staff at Murray GM were unaware that they were up for the President's Club nomination, and while they were tracking their scores from their sales numbers and other measurements as any business would, they weren't looking at the month to month basis that everyone else seemed to be.

"I found out at the start of February and we just announced to the staff last Wednesday and of course it's a mood lifter to what their efforts resulted in. Now the pressure's just on to keep on and continue to win it."
